What the Points-Based Grade Calculator does
In points-based grading your grade is simply total points earned divided by total points possible. Weighting is implicit: an assignment worth more points automatically counts for more, with no separate percentages to apply.

How to use it

- Enter Points earned and Points possible.

Frequently asked questions
How does this differ from weighted grading?
Points-based weights by point value automatically. Weighted grading assigns fixed percentages per category, so a category’s influence is independent of how many points its assignments carry.
What if some assignments are not graded yet?
Enter the points still available. The calculator then shows your best and worst possible outcomes and what you need on the remaining work.
