What the Crypto Break-Even Calculator does

Break-even is the sale price at which you recover your total cost including both fees. It always sits above your average buy price — the gap is exactly what the exchange takes.

Formula

  • Total cost = Buy price × Quantity × (1 + Buy fee)
  • Break-even = Total cost ÷ (Quantity × (1 − Sell fee))

Frequently asked questions

Does averaging down lower my break-even?

Yes, it lowers the average buy price and therefore the break-even. It also increases the amount at risk if the asset keeps falling.
