What the Crypto Average Price Calculator does
Your average entry price is total cost divided by total quantity — a quantity-weighted average, not a simple mean of the prices. It is the number your position is measured against, and the level you must exceed to be in profit.
Formula
Average price = Σ(Price × Quantity) ÷ Σ(Quantity)Unrealised P&L = (Current price − Average price) × Total quantity

Frequently asked questions
Should I average down?
It lowers your break-even but increases your exposure to an asset already moving against you. It works when the original thesis holds and fails badly when it does not.
Does this match my exchange cost basis?
Close, but exchanges usually include fees in cost basis. Add fees into the prices if you want an exact match for tax purposes.
