Crypto Profit/Loss Calculator

Calculate profit or loss on a crypto trade after exchange fees.

Please note: Cryptocurrency is highly volatile and can lose value rapidly. All prices are entered manually — no live market data is used. Nothing here is investment advice.

What the Crypto Profit/Loss Calculator does

Crypto profit is the difference between sale proceeds and purchase cost, less fees on both sides. Because exchange fees are charged as a percentage of the trade value, they scale with position size and quietly raise your break-even price.

Formula

  • Cost = Buy price × Quantity, plus the buy fee
  • Proceeds = Sell price × Quantity, less the sell fee
  • Net profit = Proceeds − Cost − Fees
  • ROI = Net profit ÷ Total invested × 100

Frequently asked questions

Are fees really significant?

On a single trade, barely. For an active trader making hundreds of round trips, 0.2% per trade compounds into a very large annual cost.

Do I owe tax on this profit?

In most jurisdictions crypto disposals are taxable events. Rules vary widely — use the crypto tax calculator as a starting point and consult a professional.
