Countdown Calculator

Count down to any future date in days, weeks, hours and business days.

What the Countdown Calculator does

A countdown measures the whole days between today and a future date. Business days are shown alongside calendar days because deadlines are usually met with working time, not elapsed time.

Formula

  • Days remaining = Target date − Current date
  • Business days exclude weekends

Counting from 14 August 2026 to 25 December 2026.

Target

From
2026-08-14

133 days, or 4 months 11 days — about 95 business days.

Reading the result

  • The count is whole days between today and the target, so a deadline tomorrow shows as one day.
  • Business days are shown alongside because deadlines are usually met with working time, not elapsed time — a fortnight is ten working days, not fourteen.

Assumptions and limitations

  • Business days assume a Monday to Friday week with no public holidays. Add those separately for a real project schedule.
  • Dates are handled in your device’s local time, with no timezone conversion.

Common mistakes

  • Planning against calendar days when the work happens on business days, which overstates available time by about 40%.

Frequently asked questions

Does the countdown include today?

No. It counts the days remaining, so a target of tomorrow shows one day.
