What the Wall Area Calculator does
A stud wall needs framing timber and board on one or both faces. Sheet count is board area divided by sheet area rounded up, and stud count follows the usual spacing-plus-one rule.

Worked example
A 6 m × 2.4 m wall, boarded both sides, 400 mm studs, 1200 × 2400 mm sheets, 10% waste.

Frequently asked questions
Why 400 mm stud spacing?
It divides evenly into the 1200 mm board width, putting a stud at each board edge and one in the middle for fixing.
