Split Bill Calculator

Split a bill evenly or by individual spend, with tip and tax handled fairly.

What the Split Bill Calculator does

An even split divides the total equally. An itemised split charges each person for what they ordered, then shares tax and tip in proportion — which is fairer when one person had a steak and another had a salad.

Formula

  • Total = Subtotal + Tax + Tip
  • Even split = Total ÷ People
  • Itemised: Person pays = Their order + (Tax + Tip) × Their share of the subtotal

Frequently asked questions

Which split method is fairer?

Itemised, when spending differs a lot. Even splitting is simpler and fine when everyone ordered similarly.
