Forex Currency Conversion Calculator
Convert a trade amount between currencies at a rate you supply, including exchange margin — for sizing forex positions, not everyday spending.
Please note: Forex trading carries a high risk of loss, amplified by leverage. Exchange rates must be entered manually — no live market data is used.
What the Forex Currency Conversion Calculator does
Currency conversion multiplies by the exchange rate, but the rate you get is rarely the mid-market rate. Providers add a margin, sometimes alongside a fixed fee, and the margin is usually the larger cost.
Formula
Mid-market = Amount × RateEffective rate = Rate × (1 − Margin)Received = Amount × Effective rate − Fee

Frequently asked questions
What is the mid-market rate?
The midpoint between the global buy and sell prices — the rate you see on financial sites. Consumers rarely get it; the gap is the provider's margin.
How do I compare providers fairly?
Ignore the advertised fee and compare the final amount received. That single number captures both the margin and the fee.
