Crypto Position Size Calculator
Calculate the position size that risks a fixed percentage of your account.
Please note: Cryptocurrency is highly volatile and can lose value rapidly. All prices are entered manually — no live market data is used. Nothing here is investment advice.
What the Crypto Position Size Calculator does
Position size follows from the risk you accept and the distance to your stop. In crypto the wide stops demanded by volatility naturally produce smaller positions — resisting that by tightening the stop simply guarantees being stopped out by noise.
Formula
Risk amount = Account × Risk % ÷ 100Quantity = Risk amount ÷ |Entry − Stop|Position value = Quantity × Entry price

Frequently asked questions
Should I risk less in crypto than in stocks?
Many traders do, because gaps and exchange outages can push actual losses past the stop. Half a percent to one percent is a common crypto range.
